Dan, what a great trip. Thanks so much for writing this I saw it via LinkedIn udetaps. I am inspired by your story, and I hope you write more about the thoughts and reflections that you experienced. So far away from the world that we are used to, and so in touch with nature. I'd like to make this journey sometime as well. One safari I've heard of some years ago, which I've since been inspired by involved bicycling across the savannah. You camped in seals style wilderness camps, and had to stay up at night on a rotating watch. Although, your allusion to never touching the ground makes me wonder about the safety of this.

Hey thanks for mencontimg on my blog! A couple of suggestions from your itinerary page:If you haven't booked an Inca Trail hike, don't do it. There are many alternatives that are way cheaper, more fun and a lot more flexible. The only cool thing about the official Inca trail is that you enter from the Sun Gate which isn't worth the extra $200-300 in my opinion. Once you get into Cusco, there are many alternative hikes. I did the Jungle Trek which was awesome, cheap ($130 if I remember correctly) and a lot of fun (downhill mountain biking, hot springs).I'm sure your itinerary will change a bunch but once you're in Southeast Asia, make sure to check out Laos and Cambodia. Vietnam is a hate it/love it country and I leaned towards the former but it's worth a look. After South America/Africa, SEA will feel tiny so getting around won't be much trouble. As for everything else, good luck and have fun! I'll be following along.

a0Dr. Julius Kambarage Nyerere: If our people are not binfeeting now from thea0Serengeti,a0a0Do you think there is an opportunity to benefit in the future. I doubt. Conservationist are killing people in Mugumu, Bunda and Tabora B and thea0surroundinga0areas. Children are being abducted and imprisoned, Livestock are are being confiscated and left to die, a0how can you say that Serengeti is to the benefit of our future children. I believe you do not know what is happening in the tourist industry particularly the Serengeti. The people of the north should be given the road to develop and get out poverty as there is nothing they benefit from tourism now and in the future. a0A common Tanzanian is left to die in deep poverty. I do value the Serengeti. It is unfortunate that it is in Tanzania but those who benefit are not Tanzanian. Find for yourself Dr. Nyerere I believe you are not informed.a0a0areas.
